A. A home can show well and still have underlying issues. Roofing, electrical, plumbing, and structural concerns are often invisible during a walkthrough. The inspection is what brings those into the light.
A. Short Answer-Yes. Do it early in the selling process. It will only make things easier.
A. You’re welcome to attend your inspection for as much or as little time as you’d like. Because of limited time available for each home, the inspector may not be able to pause and explain every detail along the way. We recommend arriving near the end of the inspection. The inspector will be able to review the major findings and answer any questions you might have.
A. Inspections generally take between 2-3 hours to complete, depending on the size and condition of the home.
A. A home inspection is a visual check of the home’s major systems and structure. We look at the areas that are safely accessible and identify any defects or safety concerns. It’s important to know that an inspection isn’t a guarantee, a warranty, or a code compliance review.
A. We inspect rain or shine, but certain conditions can limit what we can safely check. For instance, a wet or stormy day may prevent us from walking the roof. If this happens we’ll use alternate tools or return later if necessary. Sometimes rainy weather can be a good thing. It allows us to see moisture intrusion that may not have been noticed on a dry day.
A. You can reschedule or cancel anytime by phone, text, or email. We just ask that you give us at least a 24 hour notice before the inspection start time. Any less than that and a fee may apply — and we hate charging these types of fees.
A. Scan Dwell accepts all form of major credit and debit cards as well as checks…yes, Scan Dwell accepts checks.
